Can You Believe We Get to Do This? JESUS IS OUR MESSAGE
This series paints a picture of the culture Antioch Austin is creating—a way of life centered on Jesus that shapes how we love, serve, and engage with the world. Each message highlights a different element of the manifesto, showing how these principles come alive in everyday life.
The manifesto is more than words; it’s a vision for our church community. It’s a heartbeat for how we live, and a mantra we say week after week: “Can You Believe We Get to Do This?”
Who Is Jesus?
John 1:9 explains:
“The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.”
Jesus is the Creator, the light of the world, and the true light. Despite His presence, many did not recognize Him. He came to His own people, but they did not receive Him. Those who did believe in Him were given the right to become children of God (John 1:12–13).
Jesus is the truth and the Savior who offers life. He enters a broken and confusing world to reveal God in ways that can only be fully understood through a personal encounter with Him.
Encountering Jesus
Even centuries later, encountering Jesus remains transformative. In John 6, Jesus feeds 5,000 people with only a few loaves and fish—a demonstration of His miraculous provision. Later, He challenged the crowd: they were seeking bread that perishes, not the true bread of life that endures forever.
John 6:27 – “Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you.”
John 6:35 – “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.”
Jesus is not an optional part of life; He is the navigation system. Many disciples could not accept this and walked away. Yet Peter declared:
John 6:68–69 – “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.”
Living With Jesus at the Center
Amid chaos and uncertainty, Jesus provides the ultimate answer. Encounters with Him bring transformation, even when circumstances remain confusing. Worship and devotion offer a reminder: in every challenge, it is not plans or advice that matter most—it is Jesus Himself, the source of eternal life.
The call for believers is clear: pursue Jesus, invite Him into the chaos, and trust that He will transform hearts and lives.
