Our New Home

Antioch Austin began with a dream: to see a movement of people encountering Jesus, coming alive in who they are called to be, and living on mission. Today, that dream is planting roots in central Austin and you can be part of it. Listen to Pastor Jady share the heart behind our new building.

How We Found Our Home

There’s something special about coming home.

Since 2016, Antioch Austin has been living a faith-filled adventure that began with a simple yes to plant a church in the heart of Austin. What started as a small group in living rooms became weekly gatherings at Dobie Middle School—and has grown into a vibrant, Jesus-loving community passionate about seeing our city transformed.

But through all the growth, one thing has remained—we’ve never had a permanent home in Central Austin. We’ve gathered in schools, rented shared spaces, and met in neighborhoods across the city. Yet, God’s covering has been constant.

Just before COVID, we adopted a church in South Austin with its own building—something we couldn’t have known would become a lifeline. When the world shut down in 2020, that space became a refuge, grounding us in a season of uncertainty.

But even then, we knew God wasn’t finished.

In His perfect timing, He led us back to where it all began. With the sale of our South Austin building, we were able to purchase a historic church in Central Austin—debt-free. It’s a full-circle story only God could write.

Now, we’re preparing to make this place home. We believe this building is more than walls and rooms—it’s a haven for the city.

As Jesus said in Matthew 5:14–16 (MSG):

“You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world... By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.”

How We Will Fund this Project

We’re believing God to meet every need as we move toward completing our new church home completely debt-free. As we each bring what we have—whether big or small—God multiplies it to build something greater than any one of us could on our own. We’ll move forward in phases—celebrating milestones, updating our church family, and trusting God’s timing as the work unfolds. Each phase is another opportunity to see His faithfulness at work through His people. Here are the costs of renovating this space to make it beautiful and functional:

Total Cost for Building Renovations:$ 2,262,000

Cash the church has for Building Renovations:$ 700,000

Pledges Made to Build the House thus far: $ 255,000

Amount Still Needed: $1,307,000

Full Breakdown of Renovation Expenses

All costs are based on current estimates for the renovation and may fluctuate as construction progresses. We are committed to paying for this building debt-free.

Our Next Generosity Target: $500,000 by Christmas

We’ve received around $255,000 in pledges from our church body. We are believing God for $500,000 worth of gifts towards our building to come in by Christmas.

Even though we’ve just been able to host things in our parking lot, we’ve already seen God use it as a place of connection and joy. We’ve hosted neighborhood events in our parking lot and can’t wait for even more opportunities to love and serve our community right here.
